1/13/11 - Decided to pursue adoption from Ethiopia
1/15/11 - Chose adoption agency
1/28/11 - Adoption application complete
1/29/11 - Mailed application to agency
2/3/11 - Got the call that we were approved!
3/8/11 - Learned of a 90% reduction of inter-country adoptions in Ethiopia
3/14/11 - Prayed, and decided to keep going.
3/16/11 - More bumps in the road. More waiting. More uncertainty. Hit a crossroads.
4/11/11 - Decided we're all in - no matter what!
4/12/11 - Mailed adoption agreement and fee to agency
4/15/11 - Mailed home study application
4/19/11 - Home study application approved!
4/21/11 - Fingerprinted for home study
5/17/11 - Home study paperwork complete and mailed in
6/1/11 - Additional home study letters obtained and mailed in
6/29/11 - Home study visit complete!
7/25/11 - First meeting with pediatrician specializing in international adoption
8/4/11 - Home study ready for review!
8/10/11 - Home study changes made and 2nd draft sent in.
8/20/11 - Received final certified copy of home study in the mail!!!
8/23/11 - Finished Self-Awareness Tool and sent in certificate
8/25/11 - Mailed our I-600A Application to USCIS!
9/6/11 - Received notification that our immigration paperwork was received
9/15/11 - Received fingerprint appointment letters!
9/24/11 - Attended basic parenting class as part of education requirements
9/29/11 - Fingerprinted for immigration approval!
10/6/11 - Received immigration approval letter!
10/7/11 - Submitted the bulk of our dossier documents for review
10/11/11 - Found out most of our documents were incorrect
10/21/11 - Found out where we went wrong, and started recollecting documents
11/9/11 - All dossier documents re-collected and ready for certification!!!
11/14/11 - All dossier documents county certified!
11/15/11 - Dossier overnighted to Sec. of State for authentication
11/21/11 - Received dossier documents back and one needs to be re-certified
11/25/11 - All documents authenticated and sent to agency!!!
11/28/11 - Dossier reviewed by agency and sent to Washington DC!
12/13/11 - Officially a WAITING FAMILY!!!! #85 :)
