Adoption Update: Doctor Hold-Up

Dear doctor's office,

We realize you are probably very busy taking care of many patients with important medical concerns. We also realize that you are upset that you have to take the time to get the letter that we need notarized. We are very sorry for the inconvenience, but unfortunately, we have no control over the rules. While we realize you have told us you will write our letter, "If we get to it", that unfortunately is very unhelpful. We cannot proceed with the adoption of our future child if you keep shoving the pre-typed-for-you-by-me letter under your stack of papers and not returning our calls. Or worse, pretending you have no idea what we are talking about.

I am running out of ideas to motivate you. Perhaps some oreo truffles would help?

With love (trying desperately, at least),

Kristen

  1. Make an appointment for yourself. Take a copy of the letter. It is totally worth the copay to get that signature. And if your doc is at pembroke family medicine, I will be happy to sit in the office and have the "appointment" so you don't have to take off work. xoxo

  2. I've heard that you can hire a notary to come with you. Expensive and a PITA, but effective. And I would definitely bribe the office staff with sweets. Bribery makes the world go around.

  3. I'm with the other girls. Make an appointment and take a notary and some sort of food! If you need someone to strong arm I am here for you! Maybe you're too sweet to get it done! :) (That was a compliment!)

  4. Thanks ladies! We have a plan in place, and it involves sending a notary over there today. Now the Dr. just has to hold up his end of the bargain and actually come out to sign the letter. Here's hoping it works!
